喜愛大馬力、高排氣量汽車的美國消費者，近幾年也被節能環保意識所影響，陸續將複合動力系統以及渦輪引擎列為車輛主要動力來源，至於歐洲市場常見的柴油渦輪引擎，在現今科技奧援下其動力輸出或節能表現都能與汽油引擎相對等。因此除了當地車廠外，歐洲許多車廠也已經計畫好會在未來幾年導入更多柴油車到美國販售。
