苗栗大埔自救會今（18）日北上聚集在凱達格蘭大道抗議，苗栗縣政府趁機強拆4戶。民進黨主席蘇貞昌上午受訪表示，整個大埔事件的運作過程是政府暴力，讓人民對政府失望、憤怒。
捍衛苗栗青年聯盟指出，苗栗縣政府刻意挑在居民已全員出發北上的時刻，開始派駐警力前往大埔；大埔周遭有4輛民用遊覽車載運警力入駐、大型機具也進入，但大埔當地留守人力嚴重不足，毫無抵擋輕易拆除。
值得注意的是，曾擔任前行政院長謝長廷的隨行祕書陳光軒，聞訊趕赴大埔現場，因隻身力擋不敵優勢警力，反被抬離，並被載往三灣大河派出所。
蘇貞昌今日受邀出席「政治大學行政領袖種子營」演講，被問及苗栗縣政府強拆大埔4戶，他表示，大埔事件政府言而無信，對弱勢者也沒有同理心。
