以已為鑑 班強生代言反禁藥運動

因曾服用禁藥而聲名狼藉的前田徑名將班強生(Ben Johnson)現在投入反禁藥的活動，希望以自己的切身經歷，勸導新一代運動員不要走錯路。

加拿大籍的班強生曾叱吒體壇，他在1988年首爾奧運拿下男子百公尺金牌，並且破了世界紀錄。但因被查出服用禁藥，金牌和紀錄都遭到撤銷，同時被禁賽兩年。班強生在1993年第二度被查出服用禁藥，從此遭到終身禁賽。

班強生現在全力投入由一家體育用品公司推出「乾淨運動」(Pure Sport)反禁藥活動。

班強生29日在倫敦表示，為了贏得金牌和成為世上最棒的運動員，他付出了聲譽和生活。班強生說，他今天在此，就是為了幫助下一代運動員，以及也因為用禁藥而和他有相同處境的人。

班強生指出，他希望能說服未來的運動員不要接觸禁藥。

「乾淨運動」的贊助者發表聲明指出，班強生將會呼籲體育愛好者簽署一項請願書，共同拯救因禁藥而聲譽受創的體育界，並發起「真象與和解」(truth-and-reconciliation)活動。

班強生並將在9月24日前往首爾奧林匹克運動場發表聲明。而此地正是25年前讓他登上顛峰、但也名譽一夕掃地的地方。
