中國浙江吉利集團在2010年收購VOLVO後，對於這個品牌的發展可說是相當重視，雖然在進入吉利集團後，還沒有雙方合作的產品誕生，但各項新產品的佈局也都早已經展開，近來的幾款概念車也都預示了VOLVO品牌未來的發展方向。而近來吉利集團董事長李書福更在與媒體的訪談中表示，其目標是讓VOLVO在2020年後達到破百萬輛的年銷售規模。
