曾以2011年電動車市售元年為口號的FORD，以Focus Electric為頭陣針對當時銷售最好的NISSAN Leaf為對手，且無論燃油經濟性以及續航表現都比起Leaf還出色些，但是Focus Electric的車輛售價仍無法讓消費者信服，不僅銷售成績不見起色，連對手Leaf還在新年式車型上調整售價，再降低購買電動車的門檻。
