雖然美國以及其它新興國家地區的汽車銷售稍有起色，不過整體而言還是沒有達到預期。許多車廠即便在2013年初宣示當年的銷售目標，但到了6月半年累計銷售成績出爐後，還是有不少車廠開始向下修改。但其中相當特別的是，性能車的銷售卻一年比一年還高，無論是房車、旅行車、都會車款甚至是SUV，都陸續加入性能車型的戰局。
