小兄弟深夜掛急診 單親家庭並無疏於照顧

嘉義市一對小兄弟，日前深夜外出發生車禍，十一歲哥哥帶六歲弟弟到醫院掛急診一事，因為媒體報導，引發各界關注。嘉義市政府社會處主動瞭解後，確認這個家庭是目前社工人員持續服務中的個案。

嘉義市政府社會處調查指出，這個單親家庭的父親擁有穩定工作，並與四名子女同住，平日教養照顧及就學接送，都會親自負責處理，而為兼顧家庭經濟和子女照顧，還刻意選擇大夜班工作，以便白天能協助處理學校事務及陪伴四名子女。假日則多由親屬接回照料，並無部份媒體報導疏忽及不負責任的事實。

這名父親也透過嘉義市政府表達他的立場，強調他的生活及經濟狀況穩定，婉謝各界捐款，期待各界將善款捐給更需要的弱勢家庭或透過嘉義家扶中心捐助給其他遭逢困境的家庭，讓他和孩子能重回平靜生活。而嘉義市政府社會處也表示，會持續連結各項資源，提供必要協助，感謝各界關心。
