【周佩萱╱綜合報導】美國愛荷華州一名累犯，32歲的韋伯斯特，10日進入一民宅行竊，遭屋主發現，他遂而拿刀刺傷屋主並逃逸，在逃亡過程中，遭火車輾過，身體被截成兩半身亡。

根據目擊者表示他看見韋伯斯特在火車旁奔跑，火車速度開始加快時，韋伯斯特突然試圖跳上2節車廂連接處，「他看起來似乎是想努力攀住火車，或是跳過火車到另一邊的樣子，不過他沒有成功，結果跌進鐵軌中，火車輾過他的身上，把他裁成兩段。」

被刺傷的屋主本身也是前科累累，警察獲報抵達現場時，屋主拒絕就醫治療，並表示不認識韋伯斯特。
