在現今引擎技術以及車體輕量化的匹配下，不少掀背車在道路上即能虎虎生風，只是要到達所謂的鋼砲等級還是有一段不小的差距。而台灣目前所販售的鋼砲車款除了VW Golf GTI、FORD Focus ST等外，也出現了馬力輸出高達185hp的NISSAN Tiida國產日系性能車。而其實數日後還有一輛法系掀背即將加入戰局，它就是PEUGEOT 208 GTi！
